harps are vary nice and so is the violen
varey lovely :p could use alot of stuff but that would change the feel to much :p

Eagleon responds:

I think minimalism fits really well with celtic harp, moreso I think than full uprights in concert style. Maybe because the character is a little closer to the guzheng. I also wanted to make something that didn't clash hugely with Etherealwinds' VST, which is probably the nicest actual-to-life sample set I have ahold of now. Maybe down the line I'll make this into a full symphonic work, when I have stuff of equal caliber.

i like the ambient fx but not the melody

Eagleon responds:

Probably the same things I dislike, too. It precedes a bit of a breakdown - I never intended to release this, and I ended up doing so with a giant self-loathing rant attached. Teach me to internet when I'm drunk.

i love the rylistic sounds of this and the melodys i feel like i could add alot to this such as piano and more of a flow but this songs prob othe best of urs ive gone threw :p
if u send the flp i can see whats wrong :p

Eagleon responds:

I'm guessing it's just a matter of the equation denormaling it all - 'c' in that equation is the output of the formula itself, so as Songtime increases, it drags through states where the output (three bands in a parametric eq, the first subharmonic in one of the synths, the X parameter of a tweaked Melodic Bandpass Love Philter preset, not to mention all the peak controllers on associated channels being pushed around from the output of these and all of their linked parameters) reaches some sort of unity/feedback state. I think I ended up fixing it by rendering at a slightly lower PPQ. Regardless, it's out of FL sounding the way that I want - with maybe slightly more jagged modulation, but it's a lot easier than the hell I'd have to go through in putting all of this into a Patcher and going full-on debug mode with the formula.

i like some of the bass sounds used in this but could be less glitchy dosent have enough rythem c.c could use a bit more of a drum pattern i like the snare in this :p
nice ambient feel

Eagleon responds:

Glitch is glitchy =P But yeah, I got lazy with the drums, because I don't like using preset patterns - even if they do fit nicely with the song.

o.o almost hear nothing in this :p i guess i should put my headphones on good for fx in the bg of something :p but feel like its to long for that would make the projects take slightly longer to load :p nice fx s tho

Eagleon responds:

A lot of my stuff is tuned for headphone listening because I mix with phones, no other choice available really. This was actually much quieter to begin with, believe it or not. It's meant to be a background, yes, but not to other music - someone compared it to Silent Hill when I first put it out on FA. I wish I could just transmit stuff to people's ears directly, stereo in good isolation makes for delicious brainfeel =3

really simple for my tastes wish bass notes wher a bit stronger pretty chill like the someone dark happy tune
melody around 110 is really good n.n
125 would be great if the work up was nicer n.n
i kinda wish the samples wher a bit more crisp

TaintedLogic responds:

Thanks a lot for the review! Would you mind specifying what you thought was simplistic about it, please? Or...did you mean the piece in general? Sorry...I'm a bit confused. I understand your complaints with the bass. I mixed this on my headphones, so maybe I should've considered the non-headphone listeners a bit more too. ;) Glad you liked the melodies, and I'll try to make my build-ups more climactic too. Admittedly, the synths are mostly from 3xOsc. XD I really appreciate all the constructive criticism, though, man! Thanks again. :D

love the ambient feel of this only bit of akwordness in this is it feels real and computery and i feel like the sounds dont mix like they should
theres high end parts before 145 that feel to loud eq wise and dont fit in well
210 kinda sounds off key to me at some points 2 27 is really nice just wish the high lead in it changed a bit keep in mind notes that are not there mean as much as notes that are
pretty smooth could use some work tho

TaintedLogic responds:

Thanks for another review, RandomDanceOfHappy! :D I'm not really sure what you mean when you say it "feels real and computery" but I made this in Garageband, so the mixing is not top-notch. I think by the "high end parts before 145" you mean the melodies that come in at 1:20. This song is supposed to sound clashing at several points, including 1:20, 2:56, and 3:25, but I understand why you didn't like it. I know it sounds off key at several points in the song...the texture is very dense, and I like creating clashing chords and creepy melodies. >:D I also know it's pretty repetitive, but in my experience ambient music is more about atmosphere than variation and engagement. "notes that are not there mean as much as notes that are" --> that's good advice! I'll keep that in mind, thanks. ;) Again, I appreciate the review, my friend! Thanks for stopping by. ^^

i hate when ur playing guitar and the strings vibrate agenst the fret bored means 1 of 2 things ur picking is stange or ur strings are to lose both bother me XD
melody is pretty simple 1 04 i can hear to much slaping and not enough of the guitar string sound witch leads me to think that ur picking wrong
the rythem here is ok but gets off tempo for both parts and ided hate to be trying to drum to this
1 15 i like this melody but dosent fit key wise 1 23 i like the pattern 1 37 pickings sliping need to really work on finger exercise melodys seem kinda random thrown togeather
they are nice melodys but need to be structured properly in to songs and need to work on ur picking c.c i prefer sharper harder picks so they dont pull the strings as much get alot sharper of a sound

MikeeUSA responds:

Thanks for the review. I tried to make it sound somewhat like flaminco guitar

needs more of a melody for me to enjoy thid repeats to o much at the start
wish the kicks would hit harder and deeper
theres a hand ful of time where the song sounds muddy with to much sounds going on
2 12 melody seems to randomly come in needs a better transition maybe have a softer sound fade it in before then drop it in.
this sounds like something i would make when i started makeing music keep up the work n.n

JMSy responds:

cool thanks for tips

song wise i use way more then 16 vsts maybe arond 20 ? not counteting the fact i use most 5 ish times
what daw do u use ? and what synths do u use ?

melodys really nice
mixing needs work also needs mastering
lil bass is nice but i would like more maybe in the form of a kick or better use the sub bass
alot of the filters dont sound smooth and drop to much need to smooth them out a tad to
250 is my fave part i would like the midis to this honistly XD
depending on the type of music and daw u use i can help as much as i can feel free to ask me anything c.c

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Yeah, only 16 VSTi's is very limiting! That's because I'm using Cubase AI 6, which is far less expensive than the better versions :)
For the synths, I used Alchemy Player, Firebird and Anti-Transpirant. Well, I also used Halion Sonic SE, which came with my version of Cubase.

The mixing definitely needs the most work out of all things. My instrumentation could be better, but I'm fairly used to composing, which is not the case with good production.
I can hear the lack low section frequencies, especially in the form of a bass or bass drum at several points in the piece, so you're probably right. I do have the sub bass there for a while, but I have no idea how to mix it XD

Alright, so it's certain that I've used too much heavy filtering. I'll make sure to note that for the future ;)

Hahha, it's interesting that 2:50 is your favorite part, on of my friends said so too! I decided that there needed to be a break from almost all the instruments at the end. Sometimes, less is more :)
I don't think you need a MIDI file though, the chords are as basic as they get, and so is the melody :p
(Am, F, C, G, Followed by Am, Em, F, G, then Am, C, G, Am, and finally Gm, Am [followed by Dm in the intro]).

Thanks a million! I'll definitely ask you if I think I need your help with something specific :3

add me on league of legends x Umbreon x n.n pm me so ill add you
